Wireless Headsets with USB-C

TL;DR

The market of wireless headsets with USB-C charging cables is not competitive enough and they all have their huge respective drawbacks! So either wait longer until USB-C becomes more mainstream or spend multiple hours weighing the pros and cons.

Preface

The form factor "Micro-USB" has been superseded by the form factor "USB-C" back in 2014, now we have 2022. USB-C has, to my understanding, virtually no disadvantage compared to Micro-USB in any single aspect. The fact that some companies are still actively producing and even developing devices that use Micro-USB is simply emberassing in my eyes. Having multiple adapters and incompatible USB sockets is just a completely unnecessary and avoidable misery which led me to committing to a simple promise to myself: I will never ever buy anything again that offers any compatibility to Micro-USB. Instead, USB-C everywhere!

Most new and otherwise awesome headsets on the market do use Micro-USB still (it's been more than 7 years, gosh darn it!). Therefore, below there is a collection of the most popular wireless headsets that use USB-C. If you are looking either for in-ear options, for wired options or if you don't care about Micro-USB/USB-C, then this comparision is not for you! Due to how this collection turned out, I bought the JBL Quantum 800, Virtuoso SE and had previously tested the Astro A50 Gen 4. But apart from these three options, I never owned any other of these headsets; you should keep in mind that therefore most data simply originates from research, not from testing. Only after I bought the Quantum 800, I was able to find out that their mic didn't work with Linux (which was later fixed in newer versions of Linux), so I assume that the other options each may also hold some surprises that I was not able to discover through the internet.

The feature score only reflects hard facts and functions regarding the headsets. The more subjective features like audio quality, wearing comfort etc. are not factored in at all. So the table should mainly serve as a filter for you where you can eliminate options that do not fulfill your needs (e.g. "i need the headset to be connectable to the smartphone" or "i badly need the game-/voice-slider feature"). I decided to make this comparison public only because I want to spare anyone in the future from the research which was quite time consuming and involved asking questions in Q/A-Sections of amazon products and reading lots of manuals (especially because no manufacturer will admit that their headphone doesn't have the best of anything). Imagine a manufacturer admitting "The microphone is not removable". That sounds rediculous and not a single manufacturer explicitly makes a statement like that anywhere in their official product information; but then again there are some brands that just don't use some actually existing features as selling points.

It also doesn't happen too often that the brand admits to using Micro-USB. For some devices it is necessary to even watch reviews on YouTube and hope that they hold the plug-section of the headset into the camera to find out whether the device uses Micro-USB or USB-C. For that reason, here is a list of Headsets that do not use USB-C but kinda look like they could:

Some options cannot with a clear conscience be called "headsets" because their microphone quality just is not good enough or the bluetooth codec necessarily switches to low playback quality during recording. Here are some of them:

Tabular Comparison Between Headsets

Headsets are rows and features are columns. Possible scores are indicated in the second row. According to my own scoring system, the JBL Quantum 800 would be the best choice, followed by the Audeze Penrose.
